STP Volunteers Win Civic Award

Evening Gazette (30/04/2013):

A GROUP of caring pastors have been given an award for outstanding service to the community.

Stockton Town Pastors volunteers were presented with a Civic Award by the Mayor of Stockton Lynne Apedaile, for outstanding service to the community.

The pastors have been patrolling Stockton town centre each Friday and Saturday evening for the past three and a half years, offering care and compassion to those who are vulnerable.

Project manager Steve Brock said: “We work in partnership with the police, council, door supervisors etc who also work in the night- time environment, to keep people safe. It is fantastic for our volunteers to be given this award, they are so committed to the town and have a real heart for the work.”
